Poet, Author, Visionary

Lawrence Mark Proman

Welcome Poets, Authors, and Free Thinkers!

The Poetry and works of Lawrence Mark Proman are not the typical verse and commentary you will encounter. These works were born out of a deep love for humankind and a studious examination of theology, history, archeology, shamanic tradition, and local bars and talent.

Lawrence was born and educated in Boston, Mass.  Lawrence has traveled extensively as a computer scientist, poet and playwright, and archaeologist.  Lawrence published his first poetry collection in 1978, 'Tinsel Hill - 25 Pieces for the Hunted.'  Lawrence has read his poetry to small and large gatherings in America, Canada, Mexico, and Belize for the past 25 plus years in universities, art galleries, poetry galleries, art shows, elderly homes, and private parties.  Lawrence has written twelve collections of poetry since 1978.

Lawrence has written three plays, the first a one-person play 'Cortes Comes For Me' was written in 1989 and performed numerous times between 1989 and 1991.  The play captures the sentiments of Guerrero, formerly a Spanish conquistador, turned Maya Chief, prior to Cortes' arrival and decimation of Mexico.  The other two plays are full-length plays and were written by Lawrence over the past four years.  They are 'Lester and Ida' (taking place in Paris in 1938 before the Nazi invasion) and 'Death March.com /We're All Gonna Get Rich' (which relates the demise of the dot coms and the sensations and avarice they created).
